Friction welding is suitable for welding rods and pipes. It has simple process, good quality, good working conditions, high productivity, low power consumption, and is easy to mechanize and automate. Friction welding is widely used in engine combustion chamber, exhaust valve, shaft, bush, rod, pipe and flange, oil drill pipe and drill core connection and variable cross-section rod connection in factory production line. No intermetallic compounds will be produced after welding. Friction welding is also commonly used for welding dissimilar metals, such as aluminum and copper, steel, nickel, magnesium alloy, copper and steel, silver and so on. Friction welding is widely used in the welding of transition joints of Al-Cu conductors.
